4-Year-Old Can Be Sued, Judge Rules in Bike Case – NYTimes.com.

This is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard of.  A woman’s estate is suing a pair of toddlers for knocking her down while riding bicycles.  The 87-year-old woman broke her hip in the fall and passed away 3 weeks later of unrelated causes.  The judge in the case has ruled that children over the age of 4 do not qualify as “incapable of negligence” (that’s reserved for babies), so these two toddlers can be sued for hitting the unfortunate lady, who did not die of the injuries sustained in the fall.

So.  Keep your children inside, folks.  If they wander onto someone else’s lawn, pick their flowers, or accidentally break a window playing ball, expect to have to go to court, because your little angel can be sued for being a normal kid.
